GREEN TOMATOES
Once upon a time I could not believe there was such a thing as a green tomato, other than unripe tomatoes. And the thought of eating a green tomato was not a pleasant thought.
And then one year I tried growing the Green Zebra, because it looked more yellowy than green when ripe. It was ok. Then slowly I tried a few other varieties and was amazed at how sweet some of these varieties can be. Indeed, I think some of the tastiest, sweetest tomatoes I have ever eaten are green tomatoes. But why believe me? Why not try them yourself, grow some.
And like some other non red tomatoes, the other bonus is that birds tend to leave them alone.Green tomatoes do seem to interest birds.
My favourite green tomatoes would be the Green Elf and the Fat Frog.
